Eula J. Shepherd 79, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 12:26 A.M. Saturday June 4, 2016 at her residence.

She was born on June 27, 1936 in Wolfe County, Kentucky, the daughter of John B. and Malvie (Lawson) Crain. She married Frederick E. Shepherd on April 6, 1974 in Rochester, Indiana. He preceded her in death on April 24, 1979.

Eula had worked for many years for Essex Wire in Akron, Indiana and had a also worked for Townsend’s I.G.A. grocery store in Rochester, Indiana. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Mentone, Indiana and enjoyed gardening, flowers and cooking.

Survivors include her daughters, Joan and husband Eldon Sims, Abilene, Kansas, Janice and husband Robert Randall, Silver Lake, Indiana, Joyce and husband Wendell Randall, Claypool, Indiana, Jean and husband Jimmie Johnson, Kewanna, Indiana, Jennette Dennis, Rochester, Indiana, Lynn Ulerick, Rochester, Indiana, sons, John and wife Terri Dennis, Rochester, Indiana, Justin and wife Kelly Thompson, Conneaut, Ohio, seventeen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, sister, Barbara George, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mona Day and brother, Bob Crain.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday June 8, 2016 at the First Baptist Church, Mentone, Indiana, with the Rev. Mike Wilhite officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the church. Burial will take place in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana.
