Dorothy M. Crissinger, 93, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 4:43 A.M. Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester, Indiana.

She was born on January 11, 1924 in Roanoke, Virginia, the daughter of Thomas D. and Viola (Stanley) Perdue.  On December 24, 1943, in Rochester, Indiana, she married George H. Crissinger. He preceded her in death on August 11, 2004.

Dorothy was a homemaker who worked part-time as a bookkeeper for Gilliland Auto, and also worked at Armours  Creamery. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxillary. She enjoyed baking wedding cakes, sewing, knitting, quilting, caring for her flower garden, loved to walk uptown, and really loved taking road trips in the country.

Survivors include granddaughters, Candy Lynn Zartman Piper, Rochester, Indiana, and Wendy Lea White, Kentucky, three great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, step-brother Richard Gilliland, Rochester, Indiana, sisters-in-law, Florence Perdue and Joyce Perdue, both of Rochester, Indiana, and several nieces and nephews.   

She was preceded in death by her husband George, parents, a daughter, Linda K. McGlothin, brothers, Dean L. Perdue, Thomas “ Sonny” Perdue Jr., Melvin Perdue, sister, Frances Perdue, and step-father Geiger “Gig”  Gilliland.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana with Pastor Gail Law officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7P.M. on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday. Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana.
