David L. Thompson 73, 1316 E. Olson Road, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 3:05 P.M. Sunday June 9, 2013 at his residence.

He was born on May 3, 1940 in Rochester, Indiana, the son of Arthur and Helen (Tobey) Thompson. On December 10, 1961 he married Patricia Overlander. On May 10, 1979 in Rochester, Indiana, he married Saralie Stephen and she preceded him in death on October 16, 2005.

Mr. Thompson had worked for thirty one years at Sealed Power and had worked at Quick Lanes, both of Rochester. He also worked part-time from his residence as a tool and die maker. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign wars, Eagles Lodge, Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge, all of Rochester. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling, bird watching and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his fiancée”, Patty Johnson, Rochester, Indiana, children, Tami and husband Tom Holloway, Rick and wife Jennifer Thompson, Christopher and wife Kelli Hooks, all of Rochester, Indiana, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, sisters, Pat and husband Bill Kingery, Fulton, Indiana, Lorraine and husband Larry Norman, Akron, Indiana, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Gregory Thompson, sisters, Joan Hudkins and Donna Bowyer.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday June 13, 2013 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana, with the Rev. Jason See officiating. Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Wednesday and one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana.
